Wispr Flow pricing
Wispr Flow pricing: what each plan costs, and what the free plan allows
The short answer: Wispr Flow is free up to 2,000 words a week on Mac, then Pro costs $15 a month, or $144 a year ($12 a month) if you pay annually. Teams pay $23 a user a month on Growth, and Enterprise is priced on request. There is no one-time plan on the pricing page. Over three years of Pro you pay $432, and Flow processes the audio in the cloud the whole time. Witness is €99 once for two Macs, or €49 a year, and runs on the Mac with a 13-day trial and no account. The free local apps cost less than either, which is the honest alternative if all you want is private dictation.[2][3][4][1]
For Mac users who write a lot every day and mix English with another language. Runs on Apple silicon.

The plans, in order
Free is $0. Pro is $15 per user a month, or $144 a user a year, which Wispr Flow lists as $12 a month and 20 percent less than paying monthly. Growth, for teams, is $23 a user a month or $216 a year without the meeting notetaker, and $33 a month or $312 a year with it. It adds single sign-on, several email domains and usage reporting. Enterprise is custom, billed annually for new agreements. Prices are fixed per currency across 24 supported currencies, so the figures differ outside the US.[3][2]
Students and educators with an education email get 50 percent off Pro, according to the pricing page. The default trial is 14 days, with 30 days through a referral and 90 days for students where it applies.[2][3]
What the free plan allows
On Mac and Windows the free plan gives a weekly allowance of 2,000 words, with a hard maximum of 5,000, and the count resets on Sunday at midnight Pacific. When you reach the allowance Flow slows down; at the maximum, dictation is blocked until the reset or an upgrade. iPhone and Android have separate, lower caps, and the limits can change without an app update.[3]
For scale: 2,000 words is roughly four typed pages. A person who dictates emails and messages through a working week will pass it, and the practical choice then is between Pro and a different tool.[3]
What Pro costs over time
At $144 a year Pro costs $288 over two years and $432 over three, and it stops working when you stop paying. Witness Lifetime is €99 once for two Macs and keeps working, with all version 1 updates. The annual licence is €49 a year if you would rather not pay it all at once. We have not converted dollars to euros: compare the figures in your own currency.[3][1]
Superwhisper, VoiceInk and MacWhisper also have one-time options and several local apps are free. Witness is not the cheapest dictation tool and does not try to be. What the price buys is a different approach to errors: the text lands at your cursor at once, a marker in the menu bar tells you when a passage deserves a second look, and one click shows the flagged passages, the audio behind them and the raw transcript. An automatic marker like that is not publicly documented for Wispr Flow on the pages we checked.[6][7][8][3][1]
The cost that is not on the pricing page
Wispr Flow is a cloud service. Its security FAQ says it processes dictated audio in the cloud and stores customer data in the United States, and you need an account before you can dictate. For a shopping list that does not matter. For client names, contract terms or health information it is the part of the price you should read first.[4][5]
When Pro is the right purchase
If you need one dictation tool across Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android, or a team needs single sign-on and central billing, Wispr Flow is built for that and Witness is not. Witness runs on Apple Silicon Macs only, on purpose: everything is computed locally.[3][1]
What we recommend, and where the line is
What we recommend: use the free plan to find out whether you dictate more than 2,000 words a week. If you do, and the text includes things you would not want on a US server, or you simply prefer to pay once, Witness is the better buy: €99 once for two Macs, speech processed only on your Mac, a marker for passages that deserve a second look, and a 13-day trial that is the full version with no account. Pick Wispr Flow Pro if you need Windows, iPhone or Android as well as Mac. It is not for you if you want the lowest possible price: the free local apps beat both.[3][4][1]
